Rude Gyal’s Kitchen, Corp. is a Caribbean-based catering company located in New York City & Georgia. With her Guyanese and Dominican background, Bria started Rude Gyal’s Kitchen out of her dorm room on the campus of Delaware State University. She turned her passion for cooking into a business, after being frustrated with the food choices offered on campus. Bria had much success being the first person to run a food service at the university. Students were able to pick up authentic Caribbean meals from her room or have it delivered to their dorms. When she relocated back home to Brooklyn post-graduation, Bria used these small victories on campus as an opportunity to expand her business. She uses the term “A Real Buss Head Meal” as her slogan to describe the quality of her meals. Bria states “Buss Head is a term that my friends and I jokingly use to describe the indescribable. It means that something is beyond amazing. That we are lost for words. It is just an over exaggeration”.
Today, Bria has successfully transitioned Rude Gyal's Kitchen into a catering service hosting a variety of events such as cooking classes, birthday celebrations, corporate events, album releases, and much more. She has also had the opportunity to provide catering services for upcoming Bajan artist Amanda Reifer and NBA G Leagues: Santa Cruz Warriors and Maine Celtics.
Since 2019, Bria has hosted her Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive where she collaborates with other chefs and volunteers from the surrounding community to provide home cooked meals and essential items to the less fortunate. She believes that it is her calling to give back to her community and that everyone deserves a quality meal.
